This piece shares the importance of becoming free and allowing yourself to follow our own direction – just like turtles do when swimming in the ocean of opportunity. Turtles are our healers, our nurturers and our life-long travellers and they always stick together to protect, care and grow with one another.

The symbols in the top left corner represent the communities and land (cross hatching) that the Sea turtles are passing by in their own direction. There are symbols representing the coral, sea creatures and habit. In the centre is the the spirit of the sea spreading out and sharing its gifts.
This peice also pays homage to my Torres Strait Islander heritage and the journey I am on finding my saltwater roots.
