December Yarn & Share

Yiradhu Marang ‘Good Day’!

The silly season is here – it’s crazy how fast that came in! Feels like not long ago, that we were welcoming 2021 with hopes that it’ll be heaps better than 2020. It may still have been a challenging year, especially to our lovely and deadly business owners, but we’re resilient and we’re strong! And now, we are about to wrap 2021 as well.

I hope you were able to dedicate time for yourself to recoup. This month, I experienced another challenge for my health and had to step away once again from my creative projects. But thankfully my team were here to look after me and step in to coordinate with our lovely clients.

Please don’t take yourself for granted. Since this is a gift-giving season, why not gift yourself with plenty of time to practice self-care? Take the time to go out, take a walk, breathe fresh air and be with loved ones, or whatever form of self care you’d like to get, because you absolutely deserve it!

And now reminders are sorted, let’s delve in to this month’s Yarn and Share – I’ve got so much update for you all!

MEET OUR NEWEST DEADLY CREATIVE - LAUREN!

You all heard the super exciting news last week, that we’ve just welcomed another deadly creative on board the Leticia Anne Designs and Co. fam! 🙌

Say hey to Lauren! 👋 our Junior Graphic Designer and Admin Assistant! You’ll probably be hearing from Lauren via email if you’re currently on board or are coming on board for projects – but as always, I am still here! 💥

Read on to find out a little more about Lauren! 👇

Graphic for Our Newest Deadly Creative, Lauren

What are some of the creative things you do in your biz & in collab with Leticia Anne Designs & Co?

Through Banggaada, I create custom artworks for people telling their story on a canvas. I do this through using story telling techniques to create an artwork that connects people to First Nations culture as well as delicately translating their story to a visual format. I also create digital artworks and get to work with some amazing brands and companies to create artworks that reflect their organisation and businesses.

In collab with Leticia Anne Designs & Co, I am a junior graphic designer and admin assistant. I create illustrations, contribute to current works and also get to learn along the way!

What is something you do outside your creative biz?

I love being on country and am a salt water woman so am always drawn or close by the water. I also teach painting classes for another company.

What is your favourite colour?

Peach!

What is a fun fact about you?

I really love Greys Anatomy haha!😃

THESE DEADLY PRINTS ARE FINALLY OUT!

I’m so proud to share that earlier this month, I released my line of artworks up for purchase as prints on my website. These are my artworks that showcase different stories throughout the journey in my dreaming, hence they really hold such huge spaces in my heart.

These prints are available in A2, A3 and A4 sizes. Find our more and purchase these prints on our online store.

You can also check them out in here! 👇

Design Project Highlight

Blak Wattle Coaching

I’m so excited to share with you the brand glow up that I did for Blak Wattle Coaching! Caroline Kell (Blak Wattle’s deadly owner) embraced the Goanna branding package, so we did up her custom logo suite, brand style guide and social media assets.

Blak Wattle Stickers

Check out what Caroline has to share about her logo:

“Jasmine has been so absolutely incredible to work with. They have been so professional, understanding, patient and produced a really high quality document. It is far beyond our expectations and you have both magically made this happen despite the delays and changes. Everyone has been blown away by the document so far, and it’s even more impressive knowing you two were able to get this working in Word. It has been a pleasure working on this so far with you and Jasmine, and seeing it come together as such an engaging and beautiful piece has been a real highlight of the past few weeks for me.”

Kind words from Caroline of Blak Wattle

“Thank you my sister Leticia and Lauren. I am sooo beyond grateful for this beautiful logo; it truly encapsulates all things Blak Wattle. A fierce stamp for the beauty and strength; that is First Nations.”

Ngaguwany-guwal 'All together'

This beautiful artwork is something I made for Rosalin Kuriype. She has been such a lovely person to work with when I took on some design projects for Department of Communities and Justice since the start of this year. She approached me and asked if I can create an artwork for her, and I happily said yes!

Take a look at the artwork I’ve made for her.

You will see their parents at the top of the artwork (mother left to father right) surrounded by stars for the future they have given Rosalin and her siblings. Then you will see their journey across the seas from One community (India) to another (Australia). With the cross hatching representing land, where they are sharing, growing and coming together on Country. Below this you will see Rosalin (left), her sister and brother (to the right) all together surrounded from the love of their parents above.

Keighran Legal + Advisory Christmas Cards

I absolutely love it when former clients come to us for another design project. We’ve had the privilege of working alongside Keighran Legal + Advisory earlier this year various projects to bring culture and storytelling into their branding direction. So it was such a lovely surprise when they got in touch again for a Christmas card design! It was such a fun project and I was so happy that I was able to turn it over in time for the holidays. We created these beautiful cards with some wattle illustrated by Lauren (excited to share her talent in our team), combined with the branded illustrations that I did earlier in the year in collab with Kayleb Waters.⠀

Mentoring and Advocacy

I’m so excited to share on here that I was chosen as Youth Action board’s Deputy Chairperson! This is such a huge honor and responsibility that I am so happy to take on as this role means so much. Alongside this, I have recently hosted Youth Action’s NSW Youth Action Awards alongside Emily Hikaiti (one of my dear friends). The experience was so so much fun, even if it was only done virtually. Imagine how much fun that would be if we get to gather altogether soon to hold this awards event in person!

Christmas and New Year Closure Dates

To give way to the festive season, please note that Leticia Anne Designs and Co. will be closed on the following dates:

During these times I will be uncontactable as I will be spending time with my loved ones. 💛

Super excited to work with all you deadly businesses in the New Year, as you all know, I’m fully booked for this year!

Mandaang Guwu ‘Thank You’ so much for reading through our email! Happy Holidays and see you on the next one!

Yarn soon,
Leticia Anne
