Teacher Latte has got to be one of the quirkiest, most fun client we’ve had the opportunity to work with! A WOC and teacher-owned creative stationary studio based in Naarm (Melbourne), their awesome mission is to support incredible teachers and to celebrate and inspire classroom learning. Their products are the cutest! From lanyards, stickers, stamps, subscription boxes, and pens, you can take your pick and liven up your classroom accessory game. When Linda (the beautiful owner) reached out to create their 2022 Art Series Diary collection – I was so excited, as I had been following their journey for months prior.

gather & create

Our journey with gathering ideas for the process of designing the most practical diaries has been a very smooth and collaborative one. We yarned about how the diary must reflect the elements like native plants and color palette that was aligned with Teacher Latte’s branding. Throughout the process, Linda has been so open to the ideas and designs presented to her and was very vocal with her feedbacks. We worked through the diary’s various parts, such as the Teacher Latte introduction page, personal details, significant dates and holidays, monthly and weekly breakdowns up until the meeting notes and notes section. It has been such an honor too as I was given the opportunity to open this Art Series diaries with an illustration for Acknowledgement of Country to acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land we live and work on. The outcomes were so beautiful and were well set to attract its target audience: teachers and working professionals who wish to go analogue and write down important details and tasks for their daily grind. Once the design was all layout out, I had our creative Jasmine come on board also to be part of duplicating and setting of the diary pages to make sure we had more hand and eyes on deck. Then I got to connect with the deadly cover artists to work through setting up to ensure we had a high-quality feel from front to back, throughout.

share & embrace

The end results for the Teacher Latte diaries were a huge success. The finished product really popped and was very eye-catching, just as Teacher Latte had hoped it would be. It served as a great reminder that working through the daily tasks doesn’t have to be boring, and you can remember to do’s and priorities in style. I love them so much too that not only did I get a copy for myself, but for my friends and family (perfect Christmas gift). We would like to show our deepest gratitude to Teacher Latte for choosing us to work on this project. We hope the copies will fly off the shelves soon!
