Empowered Choices is a proud Indigenous-owned and led business with a focus on employing Indigenous staff and supporting our mob & community!

When Marissa reached out to me about doing a logo for her business I was so excited for many reasons. 1. Because I could see the passion and positivity of the approach the business takes in supporting people with disabilities 2. Because I love connecting to new supports that can are working in a person-centred approach within community 3. Because it was a fairly newly established business that was making a real change.

But also because it was close to home, as I grew up with my 5 younger siblings all having different levels of disabilities from learning delays, intellectual, ADHD, autism, behavioral and Cerebral Palsy. This meant that finding the right supports and connections has always been important for me as I’ve always been there to support them to be themselves and to grow within their strengths. To acknowledge they are not defined by it.

BRINGING THE LOGO TO LIFE
moodpboard with orange and purple colours for disability services in dubs
Empowered Choices business card design back

We started off with multiple sketches of different elements and ideas on paper followed by digitalising 5 concepts. To which Marissa selected one straight away that she connected to!

We explored different colours and decided on the soft pastel purple for a point of difference but also to as it’s a colour that is calm, collected yet purple being a colour of support, empowerment and care. This was match alongside a serious of greys toning done to a soft grey to sit complimentary alongside the purple.

Overall is a logo that bring flow, connection, care and sense of community supporting one another, with the curved edge and semi-circle around the wordmark.

Along the process of embracing their brand, Empowered Choices also embrace a new business card that speaks for their caring nature but also with a sense of fun and connection.
